Audi’s bi-fuel A3 g-tron at NGVA Europe 2013
xperion Energy & Environment has been selected as a Tier 1 Supplier of X-STORE lightweight high pressure CNG cylinders for the new Audi A3 g-tron, on display at NGVA Europe’s NGV 2013 event this week in Gothenburg, Sweden. The innovative hybrid composite design saves 70% of weight compared to traditional steel cylinders while at the same time increasing safety and performance.
“This is a result of xperion´s long term core engineering activities during the last decade in the company history”, says Dr. Michael Kleschinski, Director of Technology at xperion.
The first X-STORE cylinders are in the market since 2008 and used for several CNG applications like Volvo vehicles and pick-up trucks in the USA. “Winning this business was an important step for xperion to strive forward within the growing automotive segment,” Martin Bachmann, responsible Key Account Manager Automotive states. “The engineers at xperion don’t stand still. There is a tireless impulse of creativity in the team to bring new innovative products to the market.”
