Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has presented the new fourth generation Caddy. Like its predecessor, the urban delivery van, which is also a family-friendly compact van, will be produced at the Poznań plant (Poland) and launched on the market in the middle of the year. Dr Eckhard Scholz, Chairman of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Brand, said at the launch, “The new Caddy has been further optimised to meet all kinds of different uses and needs. It is now even more robust, practical and powerful for our commercial customers and even more stylish, high quality and versatile for families around the world”.
Dr. Scholz explains “the new 1.4-litre TGI, successor to the highly popular Caddy EcoFuel, consumes only 4.1 kg of natural gas per 100 kilometres. Through downsizing and turbochargers, it offers added power compared with its predecessor while consuming up to 28 per cent less fuel. These performance figures benefit everyone – and are equally kind to the environment and the pocket.”
The enhanced features of the new model include increased safety from driver assistance systems – the award-winning multi-collision brake system is included as standard.
