For the third consecutive year the compressed natural gas-powered Touran TSI EcoFuel with DSG (dual clutch gearbox) has ranked as the vehicle with the best overall record in a survey carried out by Verkehrsclubs Deutschland (VCD). For over 20 years the automobile club has determined the most environmentally friendly out of 300 models for its VCD Environmental Car List, much valued by consumers looking to buy a low-impact vehicle.
In the categories of “fuel consumption and CO2 emissions per kilometer driven,” “Noise” and “amount and type of pollutants”, the bi-fuel Touran 1.4 TSI EcoFuel secured first place and thus leads the VCD Environmental Car List 2011/2012 as the leader of the “Best 7-seater”.
The turbo-charged Touran impressed with its dynamic 110 kW / 150 hp CNG drive and a consumption of only 4.6 kg natural gas per 100 kilometers with CO2 emission of just 125 g / km.
