Calor Invests in Volvo LNG Trucks to Meet 2040 Emissions Target

Volvo-Trucks-Calor Calor, a U.K. energy provider, has invested in the next generation of LNG vehicles, which offer a 20% reduction in CO2 emissions* compared to their diesel counterparts (1). Calor will be operating a number of Volvo FM LNG trucks on its national trunking operation, fuelled by its national footprint of LNG stations. HAM Group, through its subsidiaries HAM Criogénica and Vakuum, has been responsible for designing, building and start-up of two mobile Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) units in Switzerland. The company is the first to provide such a solutions in this country, where until now there has been no LNG service station infrastructure despite the maturity of the market and its use in neighbouring European countries. Volvo Says TNO Tests Prove Suitability of LNG as Truck Fuel

Volvo FH LNG refuellingThe Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), an organisation independent of government and commercial influence, has completed tests of the Volvo FH LNG truck. TNO has found that under representative conditions for long-distance transport in the Netherlands CO2 emissions from the exhaust of the Volvo FH LNG truck are almost 20% lower than those of TNO-tested Euro 6 diesel trucks. The saving is considerable, especially when deployed on the highway, namely a 23% reduction in CO2. Read more »

Volvo FH LNG for Cementa Cementa AB, a developer and manufacturer of cement products in Sweden, has introduced the country’s first gas-powered bulk road transporter for cement deliveries runs on gas for reduced climate impact.
