Following a national competition organised last year in Singapore to develop green solutions for the shipping industry, prizes have been awarded for concepts that will contribute to the reduction of CAPEX when retrofitting vessels for LNG marine fuel propulsion. Professor Low Teck Seng, Chief Executive Officer of the National Research Foundation (NRF) presented the prizes at the Singapore Maritime Technology Conference (SMTC) 2019 last week. Read more »

BC Ferries will Use Wärtsilä DF Engines for LNG Power

Wartsila BC Ferries LNGMarine fuel technology specialist Wärtsilä Corporation has been awarded a contract by Poland’s Gdańsk Shiprepair Yard “Remontowa” S.A., to supply a comprehensive scope of engines, propulsion machinery, integrated automation systems, and gas handling systems required for the mid-life upgrading of two RoPax ferries and their conversion to operate on Liquefied natural Gas (LNG) fuel.
