Volvo Says TNO Tests Prove Suitability of LNG as Truck Fuel

Volvo FH LNG refuellingThe Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), an organisation independent of government and commercial influence, has completed tests of the Volvo FH LNG truck. TNO has found that under representative conditions for long-distance transport in the Netherlands CO2 emissions from the exhaust of the Volvo FH LNG truck are almost 20% lower than those of TNO-tested Euro 6 diesel trucks. The saving is considerable, especially when deployed on the highway, namely a 23% reduction in CO2. Read more »

Trio of LNG Shipping Designs Celebrated at Nor-Shipping 2019

Two of the world’s leading large ship builders, SHI and HHI, have been presented with approvals in principle (AiP) for VLCC designs in separate ceremonies by LR, and Gagarin Prospect, an LNG-fuelled Aframax crude oil tanker owned and operated by Sovcomflot (SCF Group), has won the Next Generation Ship Award 2019. Nauticor Moves to Sole Charterer of LNG Bunker Vessel Kairos

KairosHamburg-based LNG supplier Nauticor GmbH & Co. KG and Klaipedos Nafta (KN) — operator of the Klaipėda oil terminal based in Klaipėda, Lithuania — have agreed on the transfer of KN’s 10% stake in the charter contract of Kairos. the world’s largest LNG bunker supply vessel, to Nauticor. Once effective, Nauticor will become the sole charterer of Kairos. Read more »
