Polluted Ludhiana to Clear Air with Fleet Conversion to CNG

| India, Ludhiana

Dubbed India’s most polluted city, Ludhiana, located in the Indian state of Punjab, is about to implement a transportation solution that will reduce air pollution and perhaps go some way toward discarding its unenviable reputation. According to a Times of India report, the first phase of the project will be to convert the city bus service to compress natural gas (CNG) operation. The second phase will be to allow private vehicles access to CNG refuelling facilities. Gas supply will be by arrangement with GAIL (India) Limited.
