NGVA Europe invites members and colleagues to attend its annual one-day conference, held this year in Barcelona on June 14, to discuss in depth the challenges and pressure points facing the natural gas for transportation industry in Europe. Recently appointed Secretary General Andrea Gerini says it is vital the environmental benefits from natural gas are reaffirmed in the continuous debate on air quality, particularly ahead of the next EC debate on the Clean Vehicle Directive (CVD).
For these reasons and much more, a program over three days has been organised:
13th June (PM): General Assembly for members
14th June: One-day conference “NGV Corridors: Towards Sustainable Mobility”, followed by a Gala dinner
15th June (AM): Visit to the Barcelona regasification plant from Enagas
This year event´s focus will be closely related to the LNG Blue Corridors project. LNG has moved from being considered an alternative fuel to a fuel of choice for long haulage trucks operators. The LNG Blue Corridors has paved the way through a large-scale demonstration project on both LNG infrastructure and trucks technologies, with more than 100 LNG stations today and with a cumulative mileage close to 2,000,0000 km. LNG will likely also represent a main fuel option in the maritime sector, driven by demand for more and more clean and sustainable solutions.
