Monterrey Waste Collection Introduces New CNG Fleet

Red Ambiental CNG Fleet Headquartered in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León, waste management company Red Ambiental (tr. Environmental Network) has added 11 new Kenworth-brand waste collection trucks powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). These join five existing CNG vehicles and were introduced as part of the company’s 20th anniversary celebrations.

The event held at the Macroplaza Heroes’ Esplanade in Monterrey, in the presence of Mr. Javier Prieto, Red Ambiental’s deputy director of northern zone operations and Mr. Roberto Russildi, Secretary of Sustainable Development of the State of Nuevo León.

Javier Prieto said this project fulfils one of the company’s main objectives: to carry out its operations in a more sustainable way to contribute to the care of the environment. The units that will serve the commercial and industrial sector of the regions Monterrey, Saltillo, San Luis Potosí and Toluca.

“These trucks are the first that exist in Mexico; and at Red Ambiental we firmly believe that our work goes hand in hand with generating a positive impact and being an agent of change in the country and therefore we are in a constant search to improve our technology and infrastructure to be better,” Prieto said.

Ing. Roberto Russildi added that the company is an example to follow in the path to control air pollution.
