The Hertz Corporation has expanded its ‘Hertz On Demand’ university program to Oklahoma State University (OSU) with the introduction of an all-Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fleet. Initially, Hertz On Demand will offer students, faculty, staff and the neighboring community access to two Honda Civic GX sedans, with eventual plans to expand. The vehicles are the first CNG cars in Hertz On Demand’s fleet.
“Personal use of natural gas vehicles is rapidly growing and as the leading provider of mobility solutions, Hertz is in a unique position to introduce this technology to the next generation of drivers,” said Mark P. Frissora, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, The Hertz Corporation. “From energy-efficient vehicles to those that use alternative fuel sources, we are committed to providing a full spectrum of vehicle options across our fleet and with CNG vehicles that are entirely clean and abundant, we are able to do that.”
Oklahoma State University will be the first location to receive CNG vehicles as part of Hertz On Demand’s general consumer rental fleet. Hertz deploys CNG airport buses at its Los Angeles International Airport location and has plans to build a CNG fueling station there. Hertz also rents CNG vehicles in both Italy and the United Kingdom.
