Green Alternative Systems, Inc. (GAS), based in Indiana, has added to the growing U.S. natural gas fuel vehicle market by offering fleet Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversions. The company says it is also offering the only Ford E-450 6.8L CNG Fuel System. This system has successfully completed the comprehensive, 7 year/200,000 mile Altoona Life Cycle Test, with zero failures to the cylinder or its components.
The cylinders that are used in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversions are made with high quality materials including Type III aluminum American-made composite.
The systems come with warranties including a 4-year 100,000 mile workmanship warranty, 15 year tank warranty and a lifetime warranty on tanks, fittings and brackets.
GAS points out CNG conversions are rising in popularity for providing the advantage of increasing the lifespan of lubricating oils due to its ability to not contaminate or dilute the crankcase oil, lower fuel costs and reduced maintenance. There are a also a number of government rebate programs that reimburse enterprises that switch to CNG as their primary fueling source for company vehicles.
