German engineering company Flow Instruments GmbH, a European subsidiary of Chart Industries, has been awarded a contract to supply four LNG dispensers for the Gasrec LNG/LCNG vehicle fueling station at Daventry International Distribution Centre, UK. The Daventry station, opened by Gasrec in April 2013, was the first public station in the UK to supply trucks with renewable natural gas (RNG or Bio-LNG).
Daventry was always planned for two phase development: the first provided capacity to refuel up to 250 HGVs a day from three Bio-LNG dispensers. The second phase will increase that capacity to 700 vehicles (as stated in 2013). The order for Flow Instrument dispensers is part of the capacity expansion of the station to satisfy the growing need of LNG as an environmentally friendly fuel for trucks.
The Dynaflow 3000 dispenser is pre-tested and calibrated at the factory during the production process and includes a mass flow meter which has European type approval based on MID (Measuring Instruments Directive) and fulfils ATEX safety requirements.
