Ford India has updated the Aspire with a CNG option. The bi-fuel option will be offered in the Ambiente and Trend Plus trims at a price of Rs 6,27,414 (USD 8,783) and Rs 7,12,314 (USD 9,972) ex-showroom respectively. The Ford Aspire will come equipped with a sequential Italian-designed CNG kit from the factory, supplied and installed by Lovato (Krishna Landi Renzo India Private Limited).
The CNG kit is fitted to the 1.2-litre petrol engine which produces 95 bhp and 120 Nm of peak torque and it features a first-in-segment suspension type cylinder which makes for better cargo space. The Ford Aspire’s new three-cylinder engine was introduced to the range in October 2018.
Mr Vinay Raina, executive director for Marketing, Sales & Service Ford India, said “The New Aspire CNG is yet another fuel-efficient and eco-friendly alternative for our value-conscious customers. With maintenance cost as low as just 46 paise per km, the New Aspire CNG will offer great peace of mind to customers, without compromising on performance, safety or space.” (The maintenance cost is equivalent to $0.64 per 100 kms.)
Ford is offering what they term a “class leading” two year / 100,000 kilometre warranty. To qualify, the vehicle has to be serviced every 10,000 kilometres and the CNG kits require service after every 20,000 kilometres.
