The first 400 of a total 20,000 bi-fuel (CNG/gasoline) taxis has arrived in Venezuela from China. The order was placed with Chery International (Chery) and are intended by Venezuela’s Executive to renew the national public transport fleet via a Special Financing Program to Transport Units through the Public Bank.
“Taxis are Chery brand, Orinoco model, white color, light identification, security camera, radio dual band, video cameras, radio and dual gas fuel system,” explained People’s Minister for Land Transport and Public Works, Haiman El Troudi.
In the coming months the arrival of another 10 thousand taxis into the country are expected, and by 2016 the remaining cars will arrive progressively, all delivered with convenient financing to public transporters. The taxis will be distributed country-wide.

Chery Orinocos leave Wuhu City, China
The taxis were shipped out of Wuhu City, Anhui Province on June 29th. Present were Chery International’s executives including Du Weiqiang, executive vice president of Chery International, Ke Chuandeng, general manager of Central & South America, Chery International, and Shu Xuming, Marketing Director.
