The Dodge Ram 1500 can operate on CNG with the NatGasCar certified conversion system.
NatGasCar LLC, a US provider of natural gas vehicle conversion and refueling systems, has developed and recently received EPA certification for a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion system for the Dodge Ram 1500, Dodge Dakota, and Mitsubishi Raider equipped with the 4.7L V8 engine. The certification is for model years 2010 and 2011 and is available in CNG Dedicated or Bi-Fuel (Gasoline/CNG) configurations.
The systems integrate seamlessly onto the existing vehicle, allowing the 4.7L to be one of the cleanest engines in America while running on natural gas. Systems are currently available through NatGasCarās network of preferred installers.
Along with the Dodge conversion, NatGasCar is presently working on the EcoWise home refueling appliance, which will help solve the infrastructure issue of CNG by allowing consumers to fuel at home or work. The EcoWise unit is on schedule to have consumer availability by late 2011.
