During late October, SAIC Iveco Hongyan Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd. (SAIC Hongyan), based in Chongqing, China, sent reverberations through the Chinese truck market when it received more than 1200 orders for new natural gas powered trucks, all rated at the new China Standard VI (China VI). The paper Do gas trucks reduce emissions? recently published by T&E (Transport & Environment) has provided NGVA Europe the opportunity to rectify some aspects and complement with educational elements and details about gas in transport. T&E’s conclusions are mainly based on a set of emissions measurement campaigns run by TNO (the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research). However, while reports from TNO are scientifically well proven, NGVA Europe notes the conclusions drawn by T&E are misaligned with the measurements reported. Read more »

Russian Trio to Cooperate on Developing an LNG Fleet
Gazprom Neft, Gazprom gas-engine fuel, and the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) have concluded a tripartite cooperation and strategic partnership agreement on developing an LNG fleet and related infrastructure. Solaris Sells 40 Urbino CNG Buses to Sweden’s Vy Buss
Solaris has signed a contract for the supply low emission buses to bus operator Vy Buss AB. This Swedish carrier has decided to buy 40 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-fuelled vehicles: 24 Solaris Urbino 12 CNG and 16 articulated Solaris Urbino 18 CNG. Gas Networks Ireland (GNI) and Circle K, have launched Ireland’s first publicly-accessible, fast-fill CNG station at Circle K’s Dublin Port premises.
