Wise Gas Claims First for Florida – NGV Station

| USA, Fort Lauderdale FL

Wise Gas has opened a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) alternative fuel station in Florida, located at 650 NW 27th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale. It is said to be the first of many new public CNG stations being developed across the state, and will be open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Wise Gas says it has responded to the increasing demand from natural gas private and fleet vehicle owners to provide a public refueling facility in the state, by pushing forward with opening the station ahead of finishing touches and presentation. Florida has apparently not had a natural gas refueling facility for many years.

Purchasing CNG at the Wise Gas station at today’s prices represents approximately a 30% percent saving over gasoline.

Natural gas is supplied by TECO Peoples Gas, Florida’s largest natural gas distribution company. “TECO Peoples Gas is proud to partner with Wise Gas to provide clean-burning, domestically produced natural gas to fuel natural gas vehicles in the south Florida area,” said Kevin Webber, Director of TECO Peoples Gas.

Through a partnership with Natural Drive, Wise Gas also sells natural gas vehicles, from those that run on dedicated CNG systems to bi-fuel vehicles that can run on either gasoline or compressed natural gas.

Florida law requires vehicles to display an Alternative Fuel Vehicle permit in order to refuel at the CNG station.
