Volvo HD Considers CNG Market in India

January 15, 2006

India, New Delhi

Swedish heavy-duty vehicle manufacturer Volvo is considering introducing compressed natural gas (CNG) buses to the Indian market, possibly within the next year.

Hindu.com quotes Volvo India executive Akash Passey as saying the company has its eyes on the city bus market. The report says the company currently markets diesel buses, mostly servicing intra city and tourism markets, but that it would also manufacture CNG buses at its plant in Bangalore.
