US Natural Gas Fuel Tax Credit Passes Through Senate

March 12, 2010 | USA

US Senate approval of the American Workers, State and Business Relief Act (H.R. 4213) extends the 50 cents/GGE fuel tax credit for natural gas used as a transportation fuel for one year, applied retrospectively from the beginning of the year. Reconciliation is now required between the Senate and House versions of the bill before being signed off by the President. NGVAmerica has been an active promoter of the retrospective legislation, expressing pleasure at the Senate 62-to-36 vote this week.
