Team biogas.se – Three Podium Places in Three Races

July 1, 2010 | Sweden

Ekblom (left) and Olsson celebrate podium finishes in Gothenburg.

Ongoing testing, development and racing has seen Team biogas.se achieve exceptional results in the 2010 Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC), culminating in three podium finishes in the Gothenburg City Race, round 4 of the event, in early June. Fredrik Ekblom and Patrik Olsson, drivers of the biogas-powered VW Sciroccos, are now placed third and fourth respectively on the Drivers Championship table, while Team biogas.se is a clear leader on the Team Championship table. Now the team is aiming higher with the introduction of new Sciroccos, soon to be rolled out by Volkswagen Motorsport in Hanover.

“Three full days testing is planned before the race in Falkenberg on 10 July, ” says team manager Tommy Kristoffersson.  “I have been involved in developing new cars before, both in rallycross and racing, but this takes the prize. Never before have I seen an equally exclusive and optimized building”, said Kristoffersson, who declared the new cars will be better in every way compared to the old.

Team biogas.se is backed by VW Motorsport and energy supplier E.ON Ruhrgas.
