
GAZ LiAZ-6213 CNG
Russian vehicle manufacturer GAZ Group has tendered successfully to provide traditional-fuel and compressed natural gas (CNG)-fuel buses to Moscow’s Department of Transport. Equipment will be delivered to the customer by the fall of 2013. Buses will be involved in the urban transport system of Moscow. The natural gas buses include 16 LIAZ-5292 and 4 LiAZ 6213 buses. In Moscow, Vitaly Markelov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Nguyen Vu Truong Son, Vice President of Petrovietnam State Oil and Gas Corporation have signed in the presence of Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Nguyen Tan Dung, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate in natural gas production and use as a motor fuel. 
Dongguan City bus company, in Guangdong province on the South China Sea coast, received 210 liquified natural gas (LNG) buses in March, all of which are now operating to enhance the city’s public transportation and the environment. 100 units of King Long XMQ6106G buses and 110 units of XMQ6931G delivered so far are components of a total order for 262 King Long LNG buses. 
Russian automotive manufacturer GAZ Group has developed a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) powered version of it’s medium-sized intercity bus model KAVZ-4238. Produced at GAZ Group’s Kurgan Bus Plant, the 10 metre bus is designed for suburban and long-distance routes. The bus is equipped with a Cummins gas engine certified to Euro V environmental standard and ZF transmission. Natural gas is stored in five cylinders of 123 liters, which enables a range of 400 km.
Saint Petersburg is to begin a program of conversion of buses to Compressed natural Gas (CNG). The city recently hosted a meeting between Viktor Zubkov Chairman of the Management Committee and Director General of Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo and Georgy Poltavchenko, Governor of Saint Petersburg to discuss preparation of a Gasification Plan for public transport, municipal and specialty vehicles of the city for 2013 to 2020. 

New Flyer Industries Inc. (New Flyer), manufacturer of heavy-duty transit buses in the United States and Canada, has been contracted by Sun Metro, of El Paso, Texas, to deliver up to 202 Xcelsior™ compressed natural gas (CNG) heavy-duty buses. The five-year contract contains a firm order for 13 CNG 60-foot buses and nine CNG 40-foot buses. 
Phoenix City Council has approved the Phoenix Public Transit Department to buy 120 buses that use compressed natural gas (CNG), replacing buses that run on liquefied natural gas bus (LNG). The change will keep the Phoenix Public Transit Department in line with a majority of the nation’s transit properties said Neal Young, department director, “Compressed natural gas has become the public transit industry’s standard for natural gas powered vehicles.”
Mowasalat, popularly known as the “The Transport Company” in Qatar, in cooperation with Qatar General Postal Corporation (Q-Post) has brought out a postage stamp featuring the Mowasalat logo to coincide with the launching of the country’s first compressed natural gas (CNG) bus.
