PT Pertamina (Persero), Indonesia’s state owned oil & gas company which is pioneering the use of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), is aiming to reduce the consumption of BBM (fuel oil), thereby reducing the cost of State subsidies for fuel. As part of that drive Pertamina, through its subsidiary, PT Badak NGL, has carried out a test of LNG utilization for the Company’s operational vehicles. GFS Delivers LNG Retrofit for Large Mine Haul Trucks

Florida-based Gaseous Fuel Systems Corp. (GFS), manufacturer of high horsepower alt-fuel solutions, has developed a dual-fuel conversion system for the open-pit mining sector. Its first offering is the EVO–MT 7930 System, specifically designed for the Caterpillar 793 series of mine haul trucks. The EVO-MT System allows mining companies to substantially reduce operating costs, by replacing diesel fuel with liquefied natural gas (LNG) and without major modification of either the chassis or drive engine of the Caterpillar 793 haul truck.
