Chinese bus manufacturer Ankai displayed its new Luxury LNG Coach at the 2013 China Beijing International Exhibition on Buses, Trucks & Components in May. The LNG coach, model HFF6121K40C2, is said to be is 8%-10% lighter than similar products and consumes 6%-10% less fuel due to the monocoque technology design. Read more »

OGP (International Association of Oil and Gas Producers) and ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) have agreed an interim solution that responds to temporary industry uncertainties associated with trade regulations (EU and US) and their applicability to standardisation in the oil and gas sector. Harvey Gulf International Marine has secured plans to construct and operate the first Liquefied natural gas (LNG) marine fueling facility in the United States, to be located at its vessel facility in Port Fourchon, Louisiana. Harvey Gulf operates LNG-fuelled Offshore Supply Vessels and has just placed an order for its sixth OSV. UK bio-fuel supplier Gasrec is to build its next bio-LNG refuelling station at Avonmouth near Bristol. The station will be built on land adjacent to the M49, M4 and M5 motorways and be capable of refuelling up to 700 vehicles a day. The station will form part of Gasrec’s planned network of refuelling stations which will be conveniently located near motorway junctions and follows the official opening of Gasrec’s first bio-LNG refuelling station at Daventry in May. Rolls-Royce Plc has won a contract to convert the merchant ship Bergen Viking to run on engines powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), replacing the current diesel engines. Applied Natural Gas Fuels, Inc. Signs Long-Term LNG Supply Agreement with OCTA
Applied Natural Gas Fuels, Inc. (ANGF), a U.S. producer and distributor of natural gas fuels, has entered into a long term supply agreement with the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) to provide liquefied natural gas (LNG) to its fleet of 282 LNG buses. The long-term contract calls for ANGF to provide OCTA with an average of 400,000 gallons of LNG per month for the two fueling stations OCTA owns and operates.

Wärtsilä, a marine industry solutions and services provider, has further developed its dual-fuel technology and introduced a more powerful version of its Wärtsilä 34DF engine. This increased output means that the Wärtsilä 34DF now covers a power range from 2,9 MW to 8 MW.
