Kleenheat Gas’ EVOL LNG and the Government of the Australian State of Victoria have opened the first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) refuelling station in Wodonga, 300 kilometres north-east of Melbourne, as part of a joint commitment to increasing LNG availability in regional Victoria. Speaking at the Caltex Truck Stop in Wodonga, Minister for Regional and Rural Development Peter Ryan said the USD/AUD 8.3 million project would include construction of five LNG refuelling sites across Victoria, and the purchase of two LNG fuelled heavy-duty vehicles and tankers for distribution to refuelling sites. British multinational grocery and general merchandise retailer Tesco has committed a fleet of heavy goods vehicles to fill up at facilities run by Gasrec, supplier of Bio-LNG. The deal will cut Tesco’s CO2 emissions by a minimum of 15 percent, with a 90 percent reduction in NOx and particulate matter emissions, helping Tesco to achieve its target of reducing emissions per case of goods delivered by 25 percent by 2020 (from 2011 baseline). 

American Power Group Corporation ‘s subsidiary American Power Group, Inc. (APG) has partnered with Fitzgerald Glider Kits and the WheelTime Network, a North American truck service network, to offer the nation’s first natural gas dual-fuel glider. A glider kit is basically a new truck delivered without an engine, transmission or accessory components and parts. 

Clean Air Power Limited, developer of dual-fuel engine management software for heavy duty vehicles, has commenced a 2-year funded research project with Brunel University. Brunel has a world-class reputation in applied research and cooperation with industrial partners on internal combustion engines and their fuels. 

BOC, a UK industrial gases and clean energy company, is to invest in a further 10 dual-fuel heavy goods vehicles for its national delivery fleet. In addition, the company will install a back-to-base Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) refuelling unit at its Middlesbrough site on Teesside to service the new vehicles.
