Bolivia Agreement re CNG Conversions Apr 2013The Implementing Entity for Conversion to Natural Gas Vehicles (EEC-GNV), under the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Energy, last Wednesday signed an institutional agreement with the National Chamber of Industry of Bolivia for the free conversion to Compressed Natural gas (CNG) of fleet vehicles belonging to that institution’s affiliated industries. Egypt’s Cargas Gains Grant for CNG Conversions

Natural Gas Vehicles Company (Cargas), an affiliated company to the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum, has received a grant specifically for the construction and conversion of vehicles to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). Querétaro State Governor Inaugurates CNG Station for Public Transport

In north-central Mexico, the Querétaro State Governor José Calzada Rovirosa led the inauguration of a compressed natural gas (CNG) station project to provide a cleaner, more economical fuel for public transport. In the first phase, 285 taxis and 20 buses in the metropolitan area are to be converted to CNG. Venezuela Vehicle Assemblers Delivers >50% Bi-Fuel Conversions in 2012

According to data released by Venezuela Automotive Chamber (Cámara Automotriz de Venezuela — “Cavenez”), 104,083 vehicles were assembled in the country. Of these, 53,501 (51.4%) vehicles were fitted with natural gas vehicle (NGV) kits, reports El Universal. The conversion rate delivers on the quota set out in Official Gazette 39,181 of 2009, which states that from 2011 half of locally assembled production will be equipped with a bi-fuel system. The quota was also exceeded in 2011.
