
IGL reminds owners of compliance requirement
In the National Capital Territory (NCT) of India, which includes New Delhi (the capital of India), Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida and other cities and towns, drivers of natural gas vehicles have until June 1st to meet new compliance requirements. If vehicles do not display authorised compliance plates, no fuel will be dispensed. AGA Systems, which designs and manufacturers proprietary CNG bi-fuel systems, has received full U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification for its DuraDrive® proprietary compressed natural gas (CNG) bi-fuel system. DuraDrive is available now for 2013 General Motors and Isuzu adaptable chassis platforms powered by the 6.0L gaseous prep engine for both above and below 14,000 GVW vehicle classes.
Cummins Westport has received certification for its Cummins Westport ISX12 G engine from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), meeting both the EPA 2013 regulations and the new greenhouse gas and fuel-efficiency rules that will take effect in 2014. Limited production of the ISX12 G begins in April, with full production scheduled to start in August.

The Hinduja Group flagship, Ashok Leyland, says it is the first company in India to receive the OBD (On Board Diagnostic) II certification for BS IV-compliant commercial vehicle engines for CNG technologies, SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) and EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation). OBD II certification will be a legislative mandate from April 1st, 2013 as part of the BS IV regulations on all commercial vehicles that have come into force.
Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide, Inc., a provider of natural gas, alternative fuel systems and clean propulsion vehicle technologies, has received official notification from the United States Patent and Trademark Office that the company has been issued a key patent covering pressure and flow management for on-board gaseous fuel storage systems. 
U.S. bus manufacturer DesignLine Corporation has completed all phases of the federal-required Altoona testing of its 45 foot compressed natural gas (CNG) coach bus, which has running in revenue service on NJ TRANSIT routes. NJ TRANSIT has given DesignLine the notification to proceed with the manufacture of 76 buses, the total number identified in the contract.
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has issued an Executive Order (EO) for Greenkraft Inc’s 2012 dedicated compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel systems on General Motors 14,000 GVRW and above 4.8L V8 engine. Greenkraft, Inc is a manufacturer of alternative fuel systems for use in transportation applications. In addition the GM engine can be installed in 14,000 trucks and above as a repower to run on CNG, instead of diesel, which can help reduce the cost of fuel for fleet operators.
