The Swiss Government has revised fuel taxes in the country effective July 1 of this year. Biomethane remains tax free but for the first time is included in the fuel tax program (at 0%). Fuel taxes on natural gas have been reduced by more than 75%, lowering from 0.8092 CHF/kg (0.493 Euro) to 0.2012 CHF/kg (0.2012 Euro). CNG retails in Switzerland at 1.75 CHF/kg, equating to a price advantage of between 40-43 % over petrol and diesel. More information (German language).
