Swagelok Raises the Bar in Rio

June 19, 2008

Valves and fitting manufacturer, Swagelok, took advantage of the recent gathering of NGV stakeholders from around the world to make known their latest range of fittings including updated ball valves, medium pressure fittings, pressure gauge monitors and welding systems.

Swagelok has new high-flow, European ECE R110- compliant ball valves
with service pressures up to 6,000 psi (413 bar). The new ball valves
feature unique ultra low-temperature fluorocarbon O-ring seals and are
suitable for both natural gas and hydrogen use.

Swagelok also now offers SK series multipurpose ball valves, likewise
ECE R110-compliant, with positive, quarter-turn shutoff for general
process and control applications. Spring- loaded seats and a floating
ball provide leak-tight integrity in both low- and high- pressure
systems while reducing wear and extending cycle life, the manufacturer
says. A low torque requirement “allows for easy manual operation and
the use of smaller pneumatic and electric actuators.” The SK series
valves are available with standard Swagelok or ISO 5211-compliant rack
and pinion pneumatic actuators.

Swagelok is also promoting a new line of medium-pressure gaugeable tube
fittings and adapter fittings for leak-tight gas seal and vibration
resistance in applications up to 15,000 psi, or 1034 bar. The all-316
stainless steel fittings are available in 1/4-, 3/8-, and 1/2-inch
sizes, in “a diverse range of fitting styles, including elbows, unions,
bulkhead unions, reducing unions, tees, crosses, caps, and plugs.”
For fueling infrastructure developers, Swagelok is promoting a new PBG
series of pressure gauge monitors that indicate vacuum and positive
system pressure up to 15,000 psi (1,000 bar). The gauges are suitable
for panel builders and OEMs.

Last, Swagelok is promoting its 100-amp, M200 welding system power
supply for use with Swagelok weld heads. The unit has multi-language
capability built in to the M200, including English, French, German,
Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese – both simplified and
traditional. The unit accepts 100- to 230-volt input.
