Rome’s ATAC Replaces Polluters with Irisbus CNG-Powered Citelis

August 12, 2010 | Source: Adnkronos | Italy, Rome

Irisbus Citelis

Old polluting late-nineties ‘jumbo’ buses are being retired in central Rome by ATAC (Azienda Tramvie ed Autobus del Comune di Roma) in favour of new environmentally friendly CNG-powered Irisbus Citelis buses. Vehicle emissions are lower than those required by the EEV standard and are set up to accommodate people with mobility requirements, according to a report by Adnkronos. The new buses will service the 80 Express line, which connects piazzas San Silvestro and Ottaviano Vimercati square.
