ADB $230 Million Loan Package to Help Extend Bangladesh Natural Gas Network

October 27, 2005

The Asian Development Bank has provided a $US230 million loan
facility to Bangladesh, to be used to extend the country’s natural gas
network. Almost 700 km of pipelines will be laid for power generation,
industry and transport use, thus extending the potential for natural
gas vehicle refueling stations to be established in regions currently
not covered.
