Quantum Suggests Momentum Growing for NGV Conversions in US

February 11, 2011 | USA, Irvine CA

Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide, Inc., an alternative energy company, says its third order in a month indicates accelerated natural gas vehicle market penetration in the US. The company has secured two new purchase contracts from large US natural gas vehicle integrators Alternative Vehicle Solutions (AVS) and Semi Service, to supply a series of high capacity natural gas vehicle tanks for light duty trucks.

“Semi Service Inc. is a bailment pool for the top three automotive OEMs, offering drop shipping from the factory to our facility in Ogden Utah, for vehicle upfitting. With our specialty in vehicle conversions and repairs, the Quantum high capacity tank can accommodate both light duty and semi-tractor applications,” stated Marty Seelos, President of Semi Services.

Alternative Vehicle Solutions, specializing in the development of EPA certified natural gas fuel delivery systems for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and aftermarket applications, added that  more and more clients are seeking natural gas powered vehicles with the increased range offered by these high capacity tanks.

Quantum says that with natural gas prices at historic lows and projected to stay low, operation on compressed natural gas (CNG) offers significant cost advantages.
