Thai Energy giant PTT, in collaboration with Thanachart Bank, has
revealed a new NGV One –Stop loan service “NGV Loan Service at
Installation Companies with Thanachart Bank,” offering customers loans
at 10 PTT certified installation companies (listed in
www.pttplc.com). The program will operate for a 5 month period
starting from November 1, 2006-March 31, 2007.
With no down payment, customers could pay instalments of only Bt
1,000 ($US27) per month with the longest instalment period of 36 months
at a 5 % interest rate. Customers completing an installation before Dec
31st will also qualify for 10 free refills and a 0% loan with the
Thanachart bank (who will in turn be compensated by PTT).
Announcing the measures, Mr Chitrapongse Kwangsukstith, Senior
Executive Vice President, Exploration & Production and Gas Business
Group, said that PTT was also relaunching “PTT for People” program
which would approve a Bt 10,000 ($US270) reduction for every customer
who paid for their NGV installation in cash during December 2006 and
would also provide10 free refill coupons. This special promotion is
available at PTT certified installation companies only.
To ensure increase the take up of natural gas vehicles (NGV), PTT is
expanding NGV stations throughout the country with the target to have
200 stations by the beginning of next year and 740 stations by
2010. PTT, nevertheless, will still maintain natural gas price
for vehicles at Bt 8.50/kilogram or at 50% of diesel price when world
market oil price will have been risen.
Mr.Bundit Cheevadhanarak, Director and Senior Executive Vice President
of Thanachart Bank, said that the initiative was the result of good
responses received after the bank had joined PTT in providing a loan
service since last September. The one-stop loan service will make it
easier for customers to request loans and will provide a consulting
service right at the installation companies where the bank staff would
be ready to provide the service. Loans will be approved within 4
official days and the 0% interest rate will be available for customers
who request loans from November 1- December 31, 2006. After that, the
interest rate for general public is 5 % per year and 4% for law
juristic."
