OKQ8 and E.ON join forces to create a network of 70 biomethane stations.
Sweden’s largest fuel trader OKQ8 and energy company E. ON have entered into a long-term relationship to jointly build the country’s largest biomethane natural gas vehicle (NGV) refuelling network. The production and distribution venture is a response to the government’s long-term environmental goals for a fossil-free vehicle fleet by 2030 and an increase in the green car market. Currently, E.ON has about 30 refuelling stations; the cooperation agreement will see an E.ON OKQ8 network extend in three years to 70 stations. “Thanks to the cooperation with OKQ8 we can now set up pumps in the best possible position and precisely where the customers are – in the larger towns and near the major roads, “says Hans Kreisel, CEO of E. ON Gas.
