Omnitek Engineering, Corp. (Omnitek) and Luxfer Gas Cylinders (Luxfer) have formed an agreement under which Omnitek becomes the exclusive distributor of Luxfer’s Type 3 lightweight composite cylinders for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles in Peru, with Omnitek utilizing the cylinders on vehicles which have been converted from diesel to compressed natural gas (CNG).
“We intend to aggressively pursue diesel-to-natural gas conversions of medium- and heavy-duty trucks and buses in Peru and an33ticipate many applications for Luxfer’s Type 3 CNG cylinders, especially when large volumes of gas and lighter weights are factors. We look forward to working with Luxfer and capitalizing on increasing demand in the region for CNG applications,” said Werner Funk, chief executive officer of Omnitek.
“We are very excited in Luxfer to have concluded the deal and believe Omnitek to be an excellent partner for us in Peru,” said Dr. Mark Lawday, Luxfer´s international Alternative Fuels marketing manager.
Luxfer Gas Cylinders, claiming to be the world’s largest manufacturer of high-pressure composite and aluminum cylinders, operates plants in England, France, China and USA.
