OES Stimulates CNG Refuelling Interest in Melbourne With Free Fuel for a Year

August 31, 2010 | Australia, Melbourne

Kevin Black of OES celebrates the opening with MP Dreyfus.

Home refuelling unit due for tests soon

OES CNG Pty Ltd’s public CNG refuelling station in Melbourne, Australia is attracting the right kind of attention as the country reinvigorates the natural gas fuelling debate. Although launched in April this year, the facility has now been officially opened by the Hon. Jenny Lindell, the Speaker in the Legislative Assembly of the Victorian Parliament at a ceremony attended by Mark Dreyfus MP, OES owner Kevin Black and other dignitaries.

Representatives from Mercedes Benz with their NG powered Sprinter van and Isuzu with their NG powered trucks were also in attendance.

Kevin Black says his company has already carried out several CNG conversions, and is offering a rich incentive to the first one hundred conversion clients – free fuel for a year. The offer has been extended to owners of private and business vehicle owners not including taxis or courier companies. The offer is based on a reasonable consumption of fuel over the year, based on 40,000 km travel.

The company says it is about to commence a 1000hr non stop endurance / reliability test phase on two of their home CNG refuelling units and believes there will be considerable interest based on the convenience of home-refuelling and CNG price stability.
