NGVs Feature at WGC 2006, Amsterdam

June 7, 2006

ImageNGVs are figuring prominently at the World Gas Conference in Amsterdam this week with about 5000 delegates in attendance.  A Strategic Panel, "Natural Gas Vehicles: The Road Ahead", led by IANGV Senior Vice President, John Lyon will include three other IANGV officers and representatives from erdgas mobil, Gaz de France, Daimler Chrysler and EU.

A second session is a Roundtable with speakers from several NGV associations.  The topic is "NGV Global Activities and Strategies for better efficiency in Methane for Vehicles Business."

The third session is a Roundtable built around the reporting on the results of a three year work program "Global opportunities for natural gas as a transport fuel for today and tomorrow."  The leader of the project was Davor Matic of Energy Insititue Hrvoje Pojar, Croatia.

IANGV and ENGVA share a booth at the exhibition held with the conference and there is an area where NGVs are displayed.

This increased prominence at the WGC has come over a period of about 6 years with steadily increasing ties with IGU. There is now a cooperation agreement with IGU and IANGV and IANGV has a Vice President representing IGU.  IANGV has been attending IGU Council meetings.  The objective has always been to make the gas industry more aware of the potential for them to sell more gas – Natural gas vehicles is a new market.
