NGV Presence Strongest Ever at 40th Waste Expo

May 8, 2008

The NGV industry had its biggest presence ever at the 40th Waste Expo at Chicago’s McCormick Place Tuesday through Thursday.  Crane Carrier’s booth featured a natural gas-powered LET chassis with a Cummins Westport Inc (CWI) 8.9L ISL G engine and EnviroMECH fuel package with Luxfer cylinders.  Autocar’s exhibit area included a natural gas-powered Xpeditor with a CWI 8.9L L Gas Plus engine and FAB Industries fuel package with Structural Composites cylinders.  Emission Solutions, Inc had its Phoenix 7.6L natural gas engine on display in Refuse Trucks Inc.’s booth, CWI’s team had a strong presence in the Cummins’ exhibit, and Clean Energy exhibited and presented a technical breakout session on the program.

In addition to our exhibiting members, a number of other NGVAmerica
members walked the expo floor. NGVAmerica provided support to all its
members by “floating” between booths, making presentations and
answering current and prospective customers’ questions about engine and
fueling options, purchase and operating costs, and how to take
advantage of available tax credits, grants and other incentives.  With
the price differential between diesel and natural gas at an all-time
high (and growing), interest in natural gas-powered refuse trucks was
nearly overwhelming!  For more information about Waste Expo and/or
refuse market NGV opportunities, email Stephe Yborra at NGVAmerica.
