NGV India 2010 – South Asia’s Natural Gas for Vehicles Conference and Exhibition: November 24th to 26th, Mumbai
In preparation for November’s NGV India 2010 conference and exhibition, organiser BES and host Mahanagar Gas Ltd (MGL) have opened the NGV India 2010 secretariat office in the nearby Andheri Corporate Park in Mumbai. The office will serve as the operational hub as well as the center for promotion activities for the event. Thus far, NGV India 2010 has participating companies from over 20 countries and occupies over 8,000 sqm of the Bombay Exhibition Center, located close to Mumbai International Airport.
Hot topics in the conference program also include specific Policy and Safety sessions, which will bring in leading industry bodies from both the public and commercial sectors to discuss alongside international specialists.
Other conference highlights to date include a round table discussion for local and international vehicle manufactures, afleet operators’ panel session and a heavy duty vehicles panel discussion. These specific forums will provide the opportunity for stakeholders to discuss the challenges they face, the impact of various policies and legislation, and also highlight opportunities for future expansion in their sectors.
The conference will also feature a specific session on Maharashtra state, which will address supply, distribution, implementation of NGVs, environmental factors, and a Pune case study.
India has the fifth largest fleet of natural gas vehicles in the world. By 2012, 220 cities in 15 states will be connected by CNG pipeline, making the fuel available to a potential market of 160 million people. With India expected to be the largest NGV market in the world by 2015, the potential for business development is said to be unequaled anywhere in the world.
