New LCNG Station Links Los Angeles & Las Vegas

October 14, 2005

USA, California

The odds have
improved for natural gas vehicle (NGV) owners travelling from Los
Angeles to Las Vegas, following the opening of an LCNG (Liquefied &
Compressed Natural Gas) station in Barstow, California, providing a
critical link on the Interstate Clean Transportation Corridor.

The $2.3 million facility will use LCNG technology to dispense both
liquefied and compressed natural gas (LNG and CNG).  The ICTC project
links clean fuel stations along Interstate 15, Interstate 10,
Interstate 5, Interstate 80 and State Route 99, creating a triangular
corridor with alternative fuel coverage for 2,000 highway miles. The
station extends the reach for LA fleet operators such as UPS with LNG
vehicles in their fleet.

The station opening coincided with Clean Cities celebrations throughout
the country, marking 1 billion gallons of gasoline displacement through
Clean Cities projects.
