New Attitudes and Operating Policies Complement Natural Gas Penetration at Ports

USA, California

The Faster Freight Cleaner Air California conference in Long Beach last month, demonstrated that new attitudes and shipping operational changes go hand in hand with alternative fuels and hybrid drive technologies when it comes to cleaning the air, according to the latest issue of Fleets&Fuels. In addition to natural gas trucks slowly penetrating the ports, FFCA California attendees reviewed hybrids, dockside ship electrification, linear motors for new clean corridor trucks, better logistics management – and funding. Both Clean Energy Fuels and rival Trillium USA detailed plans for liquefied and compressed natural gas, respectively, for Long Beach and Los Angeles port trucks.
