Republic Extends Clean Energy supply for fleet to 2015
New Republic LNG Fuel Requirement Expected to Top 3.5 Million LNG Gallons Annually
Clean Energy Fuels Corp. has contracted with major solid waste operator Republic Services to deliver clean-burning, environmentally friendly LNG fuel to three Republic divisions in California: Republic Waste Services of Southern California, Consolidated Disposal (Los Angeles County) and Solano Garbage (City of Fairfield) through April 2015. Together, they provide waste collection and recycling services to residents and businesses in 55 California cities and communities. The LNG fuel requirement to support these operations is expected to exceed 3.5 million LNG gallons annually.

Natural gas-powered trash trucks reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 23% compared to conventional diesel-powered models. Natural gas fuel costs significantly less, on average, than diesel.
To supply its regional LNG fuel customers, Clean Energy operates the largest LNG production plant in the Southwest, located in Boron, California. Built to produce up to 160,000 LNG gallons per day of LNG, the plant is designed to expand production to 240,000 gallons per day as demand increases. The facility includes a 1.8-million-gallon LNG storage tank as an important regional supply source.
