Mitsubishi Introduces CNG Bi-fuel Triton in Thailand

Mitsubishi's Triton 2.4 bi-fuel pickup introduced to Thailand

Mitsubishi Motors Thailand is to boost the local pickup market by introducing the Triton 2.4 CNG Single Cab and Mega Cab with a new bi-fuel (CNG and gasoline) system. The new model, available with a 3-year or 100,000 km warranty, is said to be suitable for both commercial and daily uses with price ranging between 469,000 – 611,000 Baht (USD 14,500 – 19,000). The vehicle will be launched at the Bangkok International Motor Show during March 26 – April 6.

Mr. Nobuyuki Murahashi, President of Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Company Limited, said “We aim to respond to customer needs with a complete and comprehensive production line. The introduction of the Mitsubishi Triton CNG … will satisfy customers in term of providing longer distance and more economy during fuel price hikes.”

The Triton CNG models are powered by a 2.4 MPI engine, providing maximum output of 128 horsepower at 5,250 r-pm and maximum torque of 184 N-m at 4,000 rpm. Drivers can easily change from CNG to gasoline and back with a one-touch switch. Incorporated in this switch is a series of light indicators which also show the level of gas left in the tank.

The CNG tank is located on the cargo bed, covered with a specially designed bed liner that not only provides safety but also easy access for maintenance. In term of safety, the new model provide maximum safe with a lightweight Type II CNG tank with 120 liter water capacity for the Single cab and 100 liter water capacity for the Mega Cab.
