Environmental champion: The new-generation B-Class: B 180 NGT

The natural gas powered Mercedes-Benz B 180 NGT with bi-fuel drive was amongst a number of vehicles selected after analysis by independent environmental institute Öko-Trend as the most environmentally friendly automobiles in their class.

The 85 kW/116 hp B 180 NGT, achieving well above the average, delivered excellent results in terms of fuel consumption, exhaust emissions and noise to claim the accolade for the Compact Vans category.

With NEDC (New European Driving Cycle) combined fuel consumption of 7.3 litres of premium grade petrol or 4.9 kilograms of natural gas per 100 kilometres, the B 180 NGT has an overall range of more than 1000 kilometres.

Note: The New European Driving Cycle is a driving cycle consisting of four repeated ECE-15 driving cycles and an Extra-Urban driving cycle, or EUDC. The NEDC is supposed to represent the typical usage of a car in Europe, and is used, among other things, to assess the emission levels of car engines. (Wikipedia)
