Malaysia Assists Youth to Train as NGV Installers

September 7, 2009 | Source: Singapore Star | Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur

The Malaysian government has set up a youth training program specifically aimed at assisting Indian youth in the country to find employment.  Announced by Malaysian Human Resources Minister Dr S. Subramaniam, the ‘Train and Place’ program has been allocated more than 1 million ringgits (USD 285,000) to train 25 youth as installers of NGV systems and 150 more as mechanics. Through partnerships with local private colleges, the ministry aims to create a pool of skilled workers and reduce dependence on foreign workers, he added. Quoted in the Star Online, Dr Subramaniam said “The 175 trainees will complete their training in November and will likely be employed in December”.
