Lincoln Composites is the world-wide leader in the design and manufacture of all-composite pressure vessels. To date, Lincoln Composites has put into service over 90,000 Type IV pressure vessels for containing compressed natural gas vehicles and compressed hydrogen vehicles. Lincoln Composites’ technology originated in the aerospace/defense industries with the Polaris Motor Case program over forty years ago. Since then, the company has transitioned from aerospace/defense to commercial products and has been in the forefront of compressed natural gas storage since 1992 and compressed hydrogen storage since 2000. Our core technical expertise is used as the basis for producing our TUFFSHELL® and TITAN™ tanks. Our top caliber engineering team design and manufacture patented TUFFSHELL® and TITAN™ composite pressure vessels with ultimate burst strengths from 6,750 psi to 37,800 psi and with internal water volumes from 15 L to 8,400 L. Our customers are amongst the leaders in the industries they cover which range from the automotive OEMs, transit bus companies, heavy-duty and to light-duty upfitters/converters and heavy hitters in the oil and gas industry.

Lincoln Composites has over 100,000 square feet of new state-of-the art manufacturing space for TUFFSHELL® and TITAN™. Our TITAN™ tank is truly a revolutionary product with a rated operating pressure of 250 bar and a water volume of 8,400 L. This translates to storing over 88,800 standard cubic feet of compressed natural gas. Due to the light weight nature of the product, four of the TITAN tanks can be bundled together within a 40’ ISO module and provides storage capacity of over 355,000 SCF of CNG. This makes the TITAN an ideal solution for bulk-transportation of stranded natural gas or transporting natural gas where pipelines are not available.
Lincoln Composites is currently in development of a hybrid composite-steel riser technology for deepwater offshore applications as part of the U.S. RPSEA (Research Partnership to Secure Energy for America) program and also a member of the team chosen by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Hydrogen Storage Center of Excellence (HSCoE) to promote the use of composites within hydrogen storage and working to accelerate the market entry of fuel cell vehicles.
