A new CNG bus terminal has become operational in Karachi, in close vicinity of the Karachi Northern Bypass (M10), just north of the city. The Daily Times reported that the four-acre terminal cost the City District Government Karachi (CDGK) Rs 85 million (USD 1.83 million) and has a capacity to house 100 compressed natural gas (CNG) buses. The station is part of CDGK’s commitment to revolutionise the city’s transport service, further complemented by a recent purchase of 25 new CNG buses. With 50 CNG buses purchased mid-2009, CDKG’s fleet of natural gas buses is set to grow further in 2010.
