Iveco CNG Daily - 2009 Van of the Year - Alternative Fuels

Further adding to the accolades for natural gas vehicles, the Fleet Van Awards held recently in London has recognised Iveco’s gas-powered Daily light commercial vehicle by naming it “Green Van of the Year 2009″ in the alternative fuel category. Fleet Van’s Editor, Trevor Gelken, praised the vehicle performance for reducing its CO2 emissions by 62 per cent in comparison with an equivalent diesel model, and already conforming to Euro VI standards.

Iveco recommends liquid biomethane as the fuel of choice for the Daily, supplied in the UK under arrangement with Gasrec. All 28 CNG Daily models available in the UK are powered by the same three-litre engine which is capable of producing up to 136hp between 2730 and 3500 rev/min, and up to 350 Nm of torque between 1500 and 2730 rev/min. It is built as a dedicated natural gas vehicle and is subjected to all of the same build-quality standards as a line-built diesel type. Each vehicle offers a range of up to 380 km per tank and is exempt from London’s Congestion Charging zone.
