Iveco Venezuela, CA, has signed an agreement with the office of the Mayor of Caracas within the framework of the Caracas Insurgent Bicentennial 2008 plan, to begin a pilot scheme to distribute natural gas vehicles (NGVs) in the capital. Iveco’s presence has already been felt with the participation in a recently implemented Bulk Surface Transport System, using the latest generation of vehicles designed exclusively with gas propulsion. In 2008, Iveco plans to expand its assembly plant to increase production capacity. The Director General of Iveco Venezuela, Roberto Colladon, was accompanied at the signing by representatives of the senior management of global and regional Italian Fiat Powertrain Technologies (FPT), in which Rinaldo Rinolfi, Vice President of Research and Technology FPT, noted that Iveco has highly adapted solutions for various applications and stated "We have a whole family of gas engines to suit Venezuela."
