The Iranian Ministry of Defence has set up a new compressed natural gas (CNG) cylinder production plant with production capacity of 100,000 units per annum, according to a Tehran Times report. The factory will supply the domestic market with CNG cylinders of 28 to 130 liters capacity ranging from 168 to 425 millimeters in diameter, IRNA news agency quoted Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi as stating in the inaugural ceremony. An industry source from Iran said the Ministry will deliver product to ECER110 and ISO 11439 specifications. Production of goods and services for the domestic market by the military is reportedly a common occurrence in Iran due to the extensive resources and manpower available to them.
