Hyundai Colombia Automotriz has imported two models, the Atos and Accent, with Hyundai factory-installed and guaranteed natural gas vehicle conversion kits for the local taxi market. Hyundai is the dominant taxi brand in the country with a target of 12,000 unit sales this year. It expects between 10 and 15 percent of its taxi sales will be natural gas, reports La Republica. An alliance with Gas Express Vehicular and NGV Motori, with support from Gazel, will assist taxi owners meet the higher cost of CNG taxis by financing or via recharging arrangements when refuelling.
